Artist of the Month: Ryan McAllister, Age 20
 
Ryan Kendall McAllister was born in Oakland, California in 1987. He graduated from CLC in 2007. Ryan is a Senior Artist with Youth Spirit Artworks. He is currently a student at the College of Alameda and hopes to attend art school in the Bay Area to further develop his artistic skills and talents.
 
Artist Statement
 
I have been drawing since I was a small child in East Oakland. I got interested in cartoons and Japanese anime at age 14 and began exploring color and design involving figures from video games, cartoons, and animated films.
 
Working with known characters from cartoons and video games has inspired me to create my own characters each with unique personalities, characteristics and life plots.
